Tether Kill Switch
« on: January 29, 2010, 04:05:38 PM »
I've read in a few forums that the 08 Outlaw IRS has a pre-wired hookup for a kill switch.  Does anyone know where this is located?  I just bought a Pro Armor kill switch and really don't want to do any splicing if it is not needed.

it's located under the hood. there's a small connector with 3 wires coming out of it. i can pull mine apart tomorrow and give you a better description of the location if you can't find it.

I will take a look at it tomorrow.  My Pro Armor switch has 2 wires, do you know which 2 wires I connect to?

after taking a look at the service manual i see that 2 of the wires are black (engine kill circuit?) and the other is brown (ground). normally open circuit that when closed kills the engine.

Found the pre-wired connector after pulling the hood off.  Put a couple male connector ends on the kill switch, plugged them in and worked like a charm.

Thanks for pointing me to the correct location.  This is a very easy mod to do.  I added a pic for anyone else that may be looking for the same thing.
